 | APC Plasma Ultra-White 9003 H-4 Bulb Each When it came time to offer replacement headlight bulbs we spent a lot of time seeking a product that actually worked and represented a good dollar value. After 2 years we selected the APC Plasma Ultra-White series of bulbs. They are a true Xenon bulb and not just tinted glass which can actually reduce light output.These bulbs meet DOT specifications for color and are legal in all 50 states. The combination of gasses and unique glass emit a beam of light that is whiter and brighter than a standard bulb of the same style. We sent a set of bulbs to LegendTuner.com for comparison against the industry standard - PIAA. We were very surprised with the results.In summary the new APC Plasma UltraWhite bulbs represent an advancement in light output compared to the PIAA SuperWhite and the stock Stanley halogen bulbs. In terms of the light color temperature the APC seem to slot somewhere in between the PIAA and the stock halogen bulb. That is not to say that the APC Plasma UltraWhite bulbs are yellow.In a second test they had this to sayIn summary the new APC Plasma UltraWhite 9006 bulb was noticeably brighter than the PIAA Platinum SuperWhite 51 watt XTRA 9006 Stanley 51 watt 9006 and Sylvania Halogen 51 watt 9006 but was not brighter than the modified Stanley 9005 bulb.OK so we cant win them all but when the APC bulbs were found to be brighter than both PIAA SuperWhites and the newer Platinum SuperWhites we knew we found our bulb And at half the price of PIAA. These are dead lights the rest of the time.Our signal kits simply easily and legally will make those dead housings additional red running and brake lights the rest of the time.
